Would a bike meant for the Vuelta have TDF livery on it? I don't think so. Apart from that, looks awesome.

Thanks, Lumen, that's what I love about boards.ie, shared info, really quick. I tried to find pics myself and couldn't, all I found was Treks and others.

Is it the same bike? Does Darkglasses have a point?

Not sure. My advanced detective skills have ascertained that the one ridden by Barredo has wheels on it, whereas the one on DoneDeal doesn't.

Brilliant, Dr. Lumen! Is this you riding your elephant into the room of human frailty??!!

M'lord for your consideration I would also like to add that the picture provided by Luman has a number of differences from that held in donedeal....

    The stem is different,
One is a fizik saddle and one is a san marco
One has two bottle cages, the other not only has a single cage which again is different from the ones in the other pic but does not seen to have bosses for a second one.
Bars seem to be different too.... And it may be just me but for what is supposed to be the price seems a tad low.

That said who knows, I'm sure if its genuine there will be a paper trail.

looks spot on to me to the op why not get in touch with the seller .
    nice bike for sure.

I've emailed the guy to ask him to come on here and tell us a bit more about the history of this bike.

I'm a big BH fan and would love to hear more... I'd seriously consider buying it if it was bigger (58) than 54

Anyone know the name of that website that sells off ex pro bikes?

Fair point. I'm not a potential buyer, it's too big. Maybe I'm cynical but I'd rather get the views of guys on here than someone trying to sell.

What benefit would that be to the seller?

TBH, anyone who's interested in the bike should simply e-mail the seller directly. Asking him to come on here is simply allowing him to advertise it to a wider audience - that's not what Boards is about

I didn't ask him to come on here to do a sales job. I think it's an interesting bike and would like to hear a bit more about its history.

It's hard to keep up with all the things that people object to and disapprove of on here, but if he did post and let the people that are interested in the bike know it's back story what's the harm in that?

Just think its an interesting bike. If he gave a bit more info on how he got the bike, or a bit more about its background that might help him to find a home for it with someone that was interested in a bike with a bit of a history.

His ad has had enough exposure already. Boards is not for advertising stuff. E-mail him an ask him directly whatever you want to know about the bike - there's no need for him to come on here. If we encouraged that sort of posting it would be open for anyone to clog up the main forum with stuff they are trying to sell. Any more questions on this, PM me rather than responding in-thread

    Thanks

certainly would make a great topic lets invite him to give us the history on the bike and who knows maybe he will even get a buyer.;)

I think it's fair enough for people interested in bikes to discuss an interesting bike on a cycling forum.

If it ended up with someone selling/buying a nice bike so what?

Hardly worth that level of sarcasm..

Tyre kickers actually invite themselves round and kick the tyres, thereby wasting the sellers time. Posting about stuff on the internet is hardly the same.

As the OP, I don't want to offend, upset, break rules or any of that. The advertiser has been invited to discuss by Weirdview, so it's up to them. i didn't really don't want to contact the seller about a bike I have no interest in buying, for size and other reasons. However, I thought the bike was interesting and worth a discussion on here. Thanks to those who contributed.

If Mods feel the thread is not good, I don't mind if it is closed.

    Thanks

I really don't want someone who is advertising something coming on here to discuss items they have for sale - it just makes it a big advert for them so I'm closing this thread
