I laughed my hole off when i read this story. Fair play to him. I bet this is one story these 2 wont be retelling down at The 40 Foot. Classic.

"A pig farmer who ordered two men from a repossession company to strip naked and get into a pen with an agitated boar will be sentenced in February.

He was found guilty yesterday on a number of charges in relation to the incident.

Donal Connaughton (54), from Elfeet, Newtowncashel, Co Longford, was found guilty of two counts of false imprisonment, two charges of threatening to cause serious harm, one count of assault and two of criminal damage".

What I couldnt figure out about this was, why did the news/papers refer to the pig as "A wild Boar"?

Any male pig is referred to as a boar.

Reminds me of the Hannibal Lector movie where the rich guy planned to feed him to the boars.

Brick Top: You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together.

Sol: Would someone mind telling me, who are you?

Brick Top: And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig ****, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".

Vinny: Well, thank you for that. That's a great weight off me mind. Now, if you wouldn't mind telling me who the **** you are, apart from someone who feeds people to pigs of course?

My uncle owns circa 6000 pigs. I've always wanted to ask him do these things happen..

The link from the OP mentions an agitated boar, not a wild boar.

The two words are not dissimilar in meaning though, wild as in bad tempered and volatile?

The original report: He said that Mr Connaughton brought a black wild boar into the yard and told him he was going to find out what it was like.

I had a picture of Mr C flying off to Eastern Europe to get said "wild" boar ;)

He might well have had one if he was into exotic pig breeding?

A Wild Boar is different to an ordinary male pig. They reach a bigger size and have a fur coat. They once roamed wild in this country. A boar will eat human flesh, there has been cases down the years of farmers being killed by them.
