For all my fellow eircom customers I have a few words that might cheer ya up. Just to know others are in the same boat as ye and need an outcry. Here are my words....

Eircom. FCUK YOU!!!!!!!! Your company managers get paid unreal amounts of money while ye provide everyone else with a crap service ( but i will say very helpful costumer service, but it aint the poor ladys fault your broadband is CRAP)
How about ye try make your service better and try attract ore costumers than try to balls everyone into contracts for 'next generation broadband' which is a load of ****E!!!!!!

Mods move if ye need, just figured it could be a place for us to vent frustration... Plus some stories could be funny :)

So you like paying line rental for as long as you'll be with them? ;)
Be it 1 year or ten years?

Personally. Fuck eircom. UPC is better value.

Eircom, a festering sore on the arsehole of Ireland.

Everyday I thank the false gods that another company provided me with a decent broadband service in my little rural idyll. Because that shower of cúnts wont have accomplished it by 2112.

I find their entire marketing strategy to be incredibly condescending and misleading. It makes me angry. I have UPC, which is vastly superior in literally every way.

Since you say Eircom is the only place you can get broadband with. I can understand your choice to go with them.

But with choice, Such as Dublin customers or whatever, its mental to pay eircom line rental. Whats it, €27 or there abouts per bill? Thats just madness to pay knowing you'll always be paying that as long as you are with them. Its just dead money.

Ah Eircom.....I have refused to deal with them for about 7 years now.

It took 4 months to get them to install a phone line so I could use it purely for ADSL. And despite telling me it would work perfectly with ADSL, I couldn't even get a dialup connection. They had split the one phone line between 32 houses. Took 2 months for them to tell me that...2 months that they charged me for. I refused to pay, and still officially owe them. But they'll never get a penny out of me.

Their support staff are based in Dublin City center not Pakistan.

I got broad band with them once, it knocked off constantly every day every few minuets on and off on and off it drove me insane as i was a young and wanted to masturbate furiously to high speed internet porn as i had previously only been accustomed to the old jpeg's. Turned out the phone lines in my area hadnt been updated in around 50 years and the line was split between a few houses on the block.

Now im with upc and id never go back.

I switched to upc, eircom you mad?

    Thats terrible, Chucken
But you're speaking to the choir on this one. After a few years of having Eircom just for broadband and realising the phone was never used, but still paying €20+ a month on line rental, we finally just copped on and switched to Upc. Its a shame upc is'nt in your area mate :(

Think about it, €24.39 bi-monthly is €146.34 a year!!! Thats mental!

Screw'em! Cannot get fixed line BB where I live from them. Am less than a mile away from one of their customers but no, they won't extend to me or the other 3 neighbours that want proper always-on BB. Have to survive on 3.ie......mind you, at times they are way better than friends that have an 8Mb Eircom connection! And don't get warning messages about using torrents like with Eircom ;)

A lot of good people working there. Its fashionable to hate them but they are hamstrung by comreg as regards what they can offer. And any company thats been asset stripped to the extent that Eircom has is going to have issues.

The current crowd are trying to sort it out from what Ive heard so hopefully it'll get back on track in the next few years.

I have finally been able to get another broadband provider after 10 years of waiting. I've been paying eircom €65 per month for 8meg broadband which only gives 5meg. And the fúcking Xbox spends its time buffering on the kids. NGB me hole.

Oooh you are such a diehard rebel.

I've been with them for a few years now, I've got very good broadband, it's never ever gone down and my wife gets great value from the free weekend and evening calls.

I can't 'go back to eircon' -I was never with them, and never will be!
    BT/Vodafone FTW!

Was with them once out of necessity (no UPC in my area thanks to eircoms sh1tty infrastructure) and when I moved house they tried to charge me for an extra month despite me giving them a months notice, I had to ring and actually explain how pro-rata billing works to one of their agents (I work in a call centre myself) and that I'd paid in advance, gowl of a company. Dunno why anyone has a landline anymore when there are so many unlimited minute mobile deals around.

just changed from eircom to UPC, from 5MB to 50MB, and upc ended up beaing cheaper lol

Having no UPC in your area has got nothing to do with eircom.

I worked for their tech support for a few weeks. Worst call centre ever, and that's saying something.

There's an eircom forum where you can vent your frustrations and maybe get some answers in the process.
