Sliding Sash windows - rain

Hi all, we're in the midst of building our house at the moment. the windows are in a while now but the plastering has been recently so we are trying to leave some of the windows open abit as much as possible. We have sliding sash and my husband has said that when it rains, the room is getting very wet. This might be obvious but its something that I hadn't thought of before.
Will it a case that we can never leave the windows open just in case it rains? From what he has told me, the rain seems to be running down the inside of the window onto the ground. Is there anything we can do to prevent this happening (besides leaving the window closed!)? Thanks very much.

im sorry, but if you leave ANY window open when it rains, the room will get wet.

you have to ask yourself WHY are you leaving the window open!!

if it is to help the drying out, then consider getting a de-humidifier.

What type of Sliding Sash do you have? do they have the tilt option?

Hi Poor Uncle Tom, well, we hadn't requested this option and hadn't been informed if this is automatically included. I will call the supplier in the New Year and ask. That would definitely be a solution. Thanks
