Laptop not powering on

hi all i have a toshiba satellite which is about 2 years old. lately when i try to turn it on nothing happens. the power lights in the front of the laptop are on so i guess thats telling me there is power going to the laptop. not sure why it wont power on. any help with be very grateful. thanks
