Really interesting guy. He has strong views about the business and politics . He sounds really positive and sees all the possibilities for a country like this to get itself out of the mess we are in.

Hmm true. Where exactly is his land near DUB? Is it the one across the road from the tower?

Yes remember having tea with him one day when he and his brother flew in his helicopter. A Longranger I seem to remember.

As far as i know he either owned or had an option to buy on that land. he wanted to build the new terminal there. I have to deliver to the airport once a week and the carry on there is crazy . At terminal 1 there is a loading bay at the far end of the arrivals ramp, the area is usually full of DAA cars and vans. Nobody seems to do a tap there, and then when you go over to T2 they are digging up a whoel section at the front . Probably €7-8,00 million spent on the place and they are digging it up already
The truth is we will never know how it would have worke if the McEvadys had got to build their new terminal on the far side of the airport, but just look at the effect the presence of Ryanair has had on Aer Lingus over the last 20 years .

NTSB recently released the report for N707AR. Extremely interesting reading, especially considering that they elected to abort the takeoff after getting airborne.
