What to do with a cat?

Last 10 minutes a cat landed in my small back yard.

It tried to get out, but I think couldn't.

Miaowing outside the back door then for 10 minutes.

I open the door to let it in looking to allow it leave by the front door.

It's now under my sitting room chair. Large enough cat, no collar.

And it could be my imagination but it might not smell well.

I would like it to leave.

    Options?

(I've no meat in the house aside from 2 frozen chicken breasts and no milk).

Let it see the option of running out the front door.

give it a gentle encouragement with your foot.

    or a little water.

    put some milk outside.

    Thanks for the reply.

When you say to use water you mean as an encouragement to leave?

So I should spray or splash it with water?

Also I've no milk in the house.

    It left.

    Thanks for the help.

A little spray of water and the option to leave in view did the trick.
