GOLF HEADLIGHTS

Anybody know where I could pick up a set of Golf MK1 headlights before Christmas? Have been told (on line!) that MK3 Golf lights might suit the application, but these don't look the same, unless they are round in behind
    glass.

have you tried GSF and Otto in Dublin?

If you're really stuck, you can have the lamps off my mk1 Golf project and get them back to me when you get new ones in January?

    EDIT

mk3 lamps are completely different, mk2 lights are similar but the backing plates are probably a bit different. If you have the backing plates for the mk1 lamps then maybe mk2 lamps units can be adapted to the mk1 backing plates.

Thanks very much for your offer (Christmas spirit alive and well!) Tried OTTO but
not in stock till after Xmas. GFS in Santry had them in stock, not Hella but better than nothing.
Lights are for a G-Wagen, but owners chat forum say Golf lights will fit. According to GFS the same lights fit some caddy vans. older LT vans, T3 Transporter vans. Found out the hard way that Golf MK2 lights don't fit.
Can't beat a helpful parts person that knows their way around a computer.
Now if I could only stop the neighbours kids hurling their sliothars on the road, these
lights might last a little longer. Have lost a headlight on G Wagen and windscreen on
van this week (both parked in driveway) Hope they get bikes for Xmas, or else pray for snow.
