    Hi
I am think of buying a 1998 Polo and using it to learn to drive. It has no power steering. Would that be a big deal? Is a 1998 Polo reasonable for learning to drive?
    thanks

Unless you are incredibly puny the lack of power steering shouldn't be a problem. Many people have managed to learn to drive in cars without PAS.

It'd only really be an issue for parking.

I learnt in a 97 Polo with no power steering and was no problem.
The way I see it is that if you can drive without it, you can drive pretty much anything.

Going to be honest here, having driven a few pre 99 Polos

dont bother buying it. For a car of its size the steering is AWFUL. Why bother with the hastle of a small car that feels like a tank to turn.

There are plenty of other small cars with no power steering that drive better if thats your fortay .

Get a car with it, your not winning any medals for it.

Learned how to drive in an 86 Corolla diesel with no power steering. It was grand.
