Anyone got pictures of stuff banks used to give out to Kids when opening accounts or for promotions ?

When I was a Kid growing up none of my family or relations ever used Ulster Bank, they all used BOI or AIB.

Ulster Bank used to advertise like crazy Kids bank accounts with lots of cool stuff (at the time) and remember needing to be a certain age before being allowed to open this special account. I remember finally getting an account
where I got a Henri Hippo money bank, a white portfolio/folder/organizer thingy with writing paper, pens, pencil case and later on as a teenager they
gave our this credit card with a blue and red circle in the logo. This magical card came with a book listing all the shops and places in Ireland that offered
a certain percentage discount it was cool a shop would have a logo on their window letting you know you could use this card and you could get 10-15% discount on some items.

AIB has some nice stuff also. There was a money box they gave out one year that had two dials where you could set a combination to lock the back of the money box shut. (of course with a little force you ended up just pulling it off) The piggy bank came with a fake plastic credit card or cash card where you could slide it into a slot in the money bank to open it to access the money (simulating a cash machine)

AIB also had these cool Pound Coin holders when the Paper Punt was replaced with a coin that held 8 pounds. Or at the time being a kid not having 8 pounds so sticking 10pence of if lucky 50p coins in there.

I had the piggy bank. I put a fiver in the Ulster bank when I was 5. I'm 30 now. I wonder if it's accumulated interest.

The beehive club. Can't remember what bank. Maybe first active building society or something? Nothing says save money like some killer bees....

I was clearing some stuff out of the attic last week and found my old Henri hippo bank book. White plastic cover with a picture of Henri on it. I still use the account as far as I know.
I also found a marathon bar!

I have it in my head that the Beehive Club was either TSB or Irish Permanent.

The logo for First Active BS was a beehive, which explains the money box shape

Here's a selection for you (no henri hippo, sadly!). I must have picked up the NatWest one in the UK, as I don't remember them being here in Ireland.

I remember having another EBS house made of plastic (the one in the pic is wooden), with stickers for the front and back of the house. Not sure where it's gone!

I'd love to track down a trusty rusty. I'm sure there are lots of them lying about in attics etc. I might put a message up on Adverts and see what shows up

It would have been called First National at the time.

Yep it should be still there, with a little bit of interest.

I remember when I was coming to the end of first year in college, stony broke. I was at home one weekend stealing tins of baked beans from the press to bring back to my college house. Came across my old Henry Hippo account book with the original 5 pounds still in it (handwritten into the account book!). Brought it to the bank and they put €6.35 into my hot little hands.

Bought me a pint during happy hour and a pack of 10 Marloboro Lights, best day of my life so far at the time :D

There were 2 of those globes in my house, dunno where they came from though. You could pick the lock.

I had a post office book, I remember they had saving stamps or something, and I remember the post office people hand writing how much you had in it. I think the stamps were 10p and had a fish on them. I found it years later and got a fair bit of interest on it.
