    Is there 1 or 2 each side? Is it a complex job; are any special tools required? How long would it take, on average, for an average DIYer?

    Please repeat all of the above questions for brake shoes . :)

    the rear shoes don't require any special tools but if you've never changed a set before it is a little bit tricky to do right. There is nothing complicated in it but you need to be careful that all the springs so back in the original position. Taking both hubs of and using one as a guide will help you

    Thanks enumbers. Absolutely no idea on the ball joints tbh, mechanic diagnosed and didn't specify.

    There is 2 outer ball joints top and bottom would generally be the bottom that would be worn. Not a big job to change just if you are doing them make sure the hub is cleaned and greased before you try to bolt up the new joint
