804 or Maintenance. . or are they the same thing

    804 is a small chip with a dust. good for filling potholes or usually for blinding over a larger stone like 3" down anything bigger it usually just settles too much and you dont get a clean finish.

    not sure about maintenance but we used to use crushed gravel for potholes on the lane but was too fine and washed out for nothing. use 804 now and lasts a lot better but is too coarse to use on small potholes as it only creates a hump for water to swirl around

    Use 3/4 crushed its ideal if the base is strong. 804 is too large as a finishing layer.

    Another thing limestone based material is far better that sandstone based.

    A good roller with the vibrator is needed.
    A whacker plate if just doing small area.
