4.5kg Aldi Free Range Turkey €29.99 - good/bad idea??

    Hi all,

Thinking of getting one of the Aldi free range turkeys for the Xmas dinner. I usually end up getting a Tesco/Dunnes turkey and always try to go for a free range if possible but the Aldi deal sounds very good.

Anyone got any experience of Aldi free range turkeys? My main concern is that I was always of the opinion that a hen turkey is essential if you want a nice plump bird with lot's of breast meat but having looked at the Aldi free range turkeys today I couldn't see whether they were hens' or not. I'm (cynically) thinking that if they aren't labelled as hen's then they're not!!!

    Any thoughts??

    Ben

Cant say I ever look to see if its a hen or not. Is that really on labels?
