For Meteor customers regarding 00 calls

Meteor Fraud Alert 17-12-2012


Important Notice: 17/12/2012

We have recently learned that some of our customers are being targeted over the phone and by text message by people pretending to be from Meteor. These people are asking customers to give them personal information about their account.
Remember, if we ring you for any reason we will never ask you to give us your personal information over the phone e.g. bank or account details.

If your receive any of the above we advise you to take the following steps:

• Never disclose any information particularly personal or financial information.
• Delete the SMS/MMS immediately
• Never click on web links contained within such messages or download content associated with the message
• Do not respond to messages from an unknown source.

If you have provided personal bank account or credit card details you should contact your bank immediately to advise that your details have been compromised. Your financial institution will be in a position to advise regarding cancelling bank or credit cards.

If you do receive anything that you are suspicious about, please provide all information including the date, time and content of the call or SMS/MMS to Customer Care at 1890 808 585.
