    All,

I want to be able to bring 2 satellite feeds and 1 Saorview feeds down 1 cable from the attic, would it be possible to do this using any "normal" DiSEqC's or will I have to run an additional cable? I already am using 1 converter in another room to have Saorview and Satellite come down 1 cable with great success.

I think with a DiSEqC switch in the attic you should be able to do it. Obviously you'll only be able to access one satellite at a time though.

What do you mean a Saorview feed - is it from a Terrestrial Aerial?

BTW I find that this place is the cheapest for Diseqc switches:

Yup, I want to take 2 feeds from 1 satellite (28.2) and 1 feed from a terrestrial aerial, I already have 1 of each coming into another room working perfectly through a unit I got recommended here, I'm looking for 1 now that'll allow 2 satellite and 1 terrestrial.

So the 2 feeds won't be live at the same time? e.g. I won't be able to record 1 channel while watching another

So you have a twin LNB for Astra, yes?

    What receiver do you have?

First off, those satellite/terrestrial diplexers are not DiSEqC devices.

You can't simultaneously feed 2 satellite feeds on 1 cable, without shifting the frequency of 1 of them (a 'stacker/destacker' will accomplish this).

More sensible to run a 2nd cable.

I've a quad lnb, I'm using 2 of them down to my living room, I'm running 1 to my bedroom, I want to run the spare 1 into my room along with my teresterial aerial, that way I'll be able to access my spare box wherever I am in the world (I've port forwarding and DDNS setup) without impacting Mrs. Clareman, but there's only 1 aerial socket in the room, I don't want to run another cable if I can avoid it.

    I'll be using an ultimo.

I dont really undertsand some of what ur saying (especially the part that you only have one aerial socket in the room that you want to bring your feeds into because as far as I know, a terrestrial feed from an aerial and a feed coming from a LNB cannot go through one of these sockets (only the terrestrial feed can go through this socket)) so Ill let Peter answer.

If I understand this correctly, you want to run 2 sat feeds and terrestrial feed to your Ultimo?
You already have a quad LNB with 3 feeds used? 2 to the sitting room, and 1 to the bedroom?
And you also want full watch 1/Record another PVR capability at the new ultimo?
Am I right in my understanding so far?
If I am, Diseqc switching won't gain you anything as to what I think you are after you need 5 28.2 feeds and you only have 4 currently.
1st thing I'd do is swap the quad for an Octo LNB as at least then you will have the required number of feeds and room for expansion too.
If it needs to be fed into a single wall plate, I'd be using the current installed cable to pull thru new shotgun sat and a terrestrial feed and installing a new wallplate.
I'm sure there is a stacker/destacker solution but I would say it won't be cheap and is an added complication thats easily eliminated.

I think I've gotten my technology and terminology wrong, I think I'll just go ahead and run a cable, it'd be a whole lot easier

I'm not sure about your set-up. Is the Ultimo in the main room or the bedroom?

    My set-up is as follows.

Main room: Vu+ duo with two sat feeds and 1 terrestrial feed via 2 cables (one cable has a diplexer on both ends so carries both sat and terrestrial)...
Bedroom: Gigablue HD800 wih 1 Sat feed plus 1 terrestrial feed through 1 cable (again with diplexers).

Also - I'm running the remotestreamconvert plugin which allows me to access services on the Vu+ on the Gigablue and vice-versa. So effectively allows me to share tuners across the boxes..albeit accessing them in a different bouquet.

Would this do what you want?

I was going to move it up. I want to run 2 cables from 28.2 and a 1 from an aerial down 1 cable in the house, I don't think that's going to work, what I'll do is run another cable and get a diplexer, that should solve everything, I think.
