Collecting from an An Post sorting office

I ordered an item online on Dec 7th and it was dispatched Dec 8th, It’s only coming from the UK, so it should have been here by now. I arranged for it to be sent to my work address, so if it doesn’t arrive tomorrow, then it’s going to be too late for Christmas.

I am just wondering, if it arrives on Saturday or Monday, it obviously can’t be delivered as my workplace will be closed, will it be kept in the my local sorting office? Is it possible to collect something from there without a ‘sorry we missed you’ leaflet?

I am basically wondering what the chances are that if I turn up on Monday morning, they will give me my package.

    Thanks in advance

I've collected stuff without the leaflet in the past.

If you go to the delivery office with photo-id and proof of address, they should give you the item without the leaflet.

Thanks for the replies, would I need to go to the sorting office or my local post office? Nor sure where my local post office is, my workplace is near the airport in Cork, so there are a few PO’s around me.

I presume the sorting office don’t take phone calls? I’d just have to turn up and hope for the best I suppose?

the south city delivery office is open from 7.30am to the public . the driver on this route will probably be ready to go out on delivery at this time , maybe slightly earlier . id suggest getting there at this time . maybe even earlier , there's normally a few having a smoke out the front . just tell them the story and they should be able to sort you if it's there . I don't think they'd give you a contact number for driver either as it's personal mobiles they'd have . so you may have to wait to later in the day if you don't get there early enough .
