    Hi All

A friend's son has just turned 18 and applied for and received JSA. But a payment of only €40.00! Its a One Parent Family, the one parent working and taking home around €550.00 and in a Local Authority House with rent of €60.00.

I did calculations from the website, but dont come up with €40.00.

Suggest that the 18 year old appeals the decision.

The son should have been given a 'statement of means' from the deciding officer.

You know hte maximum is €100? and not €188 so it looks like they have reduced his means bu €60.

it looks like they have done benefit and privilege on him - his parents must be working and they take their income into account. its called the benefit and privilege of living at home.
