Recently purchased the above appliance and just noticed the grill has no handle. Before I go back to the shop should it have come with a handle?

It says nothing. Find it hard to imagine a cooker being sold with no handle for the grill but that seems to be the case.

Some sit in sliding rails and you just slide it out.

A lot of modern grills come with a detachable handle that clips onto the pan to allow you to slide it in & out.

Do you find this cooker vents out a lot of steam across the hob?

As trevally has said 600 wide ovens don't have handles on the grill pan anymore,You are supposed to use an oven glove. Seems to be all to do with health and safety, I often wonder how older people survived when all these regs were not in place. As regards the steam it might be worth checking the vent pipe at the back is not obstructed. In the most recent past I have found the vent pipe incorrectly lined up with the back panel where it should exit in a few different elec cookers, now this would not spell good news if they were gas

My 600 Hotpoint (must be 8-10 years old by now)grill pan came with a removable handle. My previous cooker had one as well and when I got rid of it I kept the old handle - its always handy to have a second when I can't find the first one in the overflowing drawer. IMHO Health & Safety should be insisting on these handles being supplied as just using oven gloves is very awkward compared to a clip-on handle, in my experience.
