I couldn't help but feel when I was watching tlc that I was watching somethin special.wwe are clearly in need of new stars to bring their brand forward and the likes of the shield ryback Bryan ziggler sandow etc, I believe , can be those guys to do it. We are all sick if stop start pushes but now more then ever I think is times for the develomental guys to make their mark.HHH seems to be making a legitimate effort to create these guys. Reminds of the time rock hhh scsa and the rest were trying to become bonafide stars and step out of the shadow created by hogan and the wcw guys. Exciting times to be a wrestling fan I think. Any one else feel this excited bout the product?

Yes i think you're on the ball during the Shield match even michael cole said at one point Folks you're watching the future of the WWE and we sure are Ryback is the one who's gonna eventually replace Cena when he learns to speak lol

I started a similar thread about three years ago when Sheamus and Ziggler were beginning a rise through the ranks.

I must look it up and see who else was mentioned in the thread.

But your right, at the moment a vibe of change is in the air. Bryan was brilliant over the last year. Ryback had a great few months. Cesaro looks the part. The Shield had a great debut month. Sandow's work even as a dislikeable heel is enjoyable.

I always regard manai as the true test, time and time again the older, less active guys appear and the new guys get forgotten about,

Bit early to tell, all depends on what happens when The Shield/Ryback finish feuding with each other I suppose.

Ryback is presumably a favourite to win the Rumble and face Big Show at Mania, but if The Shield just end up feuding with Kofi Kingston or other interchangeable mid carders then I'd fear for them ever becoming main eventers.

I admit it is early days but as I said I believe we are witnessing the next breakout period....titles are being valued more, which means when one of these guys breaks the glass ceiling it will actually have meaning. No more title reigns like Swaggers , which was beyond a joke. When Ziggler cashes in, it will be big, when ryback a title, it will be big. Snadow and Cody will make relevant tag champs unlike tyson kidd and davey hart smith.....Over the past years I couldnt tell you every ic or us title holder , I just get a feeling that will change.

It seems like a concerted effort is being made to make the whole product relevant again. Vince may be seeing the ratings and actually letting the product become a bit edgier and darker. Agreed we all got our hopes up before, MITB Chicago the Nexus etc but back then WWE had a plethora of guys they could fall back on HHH, Taker, Michaels, Jericho, Batista...all of these guys are gone. Now they only have Orton , Cena and Punk (Rock every now and again) they have no choice but to bring on a new breed and establish these guys. No more Miz **** ups, maineventing mania and then reduced to a bullsh!t role the next year.

Just look at NXT and see what the future holds for WWE, as thats the way the product will be goin with HHH getting more and more control. Its truly an exciting time to be a fan

Yep, TLC last year was the same thing - giving the IWC some hope for the next year. Most of the people in Rovert's pic have fallen into obscurity, Punk and especially Bryan keeping themselves relevant by their own talents rather than what WWE have done for them. It's very nice to see the SHIELD in a prominent role and Ziggler main event, but don't get your hopes up that they won't be abandoned when WWE gear up for Mania. Rock's back, Brock's back, Taker's back etc - suddenly Sandow & the like will be very quickly pushed to the back burners to make way for the established draws. It's just how WWE do business.

Bourne got injured, Kofi is still king of the midcard which is fine, Cody has had a decent year, Ryder while fun online is to gimmicky to be really pushed hard while Beth was a diva and they don't count.

But the likes of Taker Rock and Brock can all realistically fued with an up and comer....Taker v Shemus is very possible, Show v Ryback is touted, both stated can lead the way to each superstar creating a legacy. the only real other people that need to be facilitated is Orton Cena Rock and Brock, any one if not all can realistically take on members of the "New Breed", win or lose this years Mania can create the next generation. Neither of them need marquee names to draw. Its very promising and I just believe a new era of WWE that we have been craving may be on the horizon. Hope it doesnt all blow up in my face.

Within one year we've had Ryback, Sandow, Cesaro, Rollins, Ambrose and Maddox all debut! We've had Daniel Bryan become one of the most over WWE Wrestlers in YEARS and Ziggler FINALLY get the push he deserves! I just hope come the 'Rumble Vince won't forget some of these guys for his so called Superstars!

Id love to see a few of the "new breed" get some good momentum in the Royal Rumble instead of a HHH/Cena where they come in and eliminate all the newbies . Or even see a few surprises (for example Sandow eliminating someone like Orton) in the rumble

Im not a fan of the 3hr raw as id imagine I wouldnt watch them live as it could be quit tedious but the best thing about them is how they have helped in the development of undercard guys. the creative team have been forced to find ways to push new stars and similarly due to the large amount of airtime to fill each week arent just allowed to let pushes die all that quickly and instead develop them further.

Suddenly there is a meaningful tag division and guys like Sandow, Rhodes, Mysterio, Sin Cara, Bryan etc all get showcased despite not being in main event storylines. Giving them something worthwhile to do allows them to get over by giving the fans more reason to care about them and what they are doing and if they get over they have more chances of moving up the ranks into a main event spot.

Similarily guys like Cesaro have been afforded far more time to get establish themselves and get themselves over in ring and on the Mic than they would have previously and his reign as US champ, like that of team Hell No as tag champs and CM Punks as WWE champ show that the company are trying to put more emphasis on the title. not hot shot it around and in doing so clearly elevate the value of being champion.

I also think the company have gotten better at Introducing new talent recently. Perhaps credit goes to HHH in some form as it was reported he only wanted to introduce new guys when they had proper storlines for them but who knows who deserves the credit. However the way certain folk are being introduced is def improving their credability from the get go. Ryback, The Shield and Big E Langston are 3 recent examples of this and 3 examples that would give me hope as they also might not get lost in the mania shuffle due to how they were introduced and thus might have a strong placing after it.

Big E for example will get pushed as long as Ziggler/AJ get airtime and esp with Ziggler still being Mr Money in the bank and AJ being the only Diva with a proper character I simply cannot see that changing anytime soon. Ryback is a strong contender to win the Rumble and isnt finished with Punk or his quest for the WWE title yet and The Shield will prob continue to feud with Ryback and others leading into the Rumble and then become Punks backup on the road to WM.

If your not new and already stuck in the midcard it could be difficult for you though with the possible exception of The Miz who they put enough effort into in the past and does enough PR work that they want to keep him relevant even if they can only shoehorn him into feuds with his Miz Tv angles. People like Kofi Kingston (Shelton if he comes back) and Santino/Ryder for example I wouldnt ever expect to rise above the top of the midcard / comedic wrestlers in the pack and others like even Wade Barett (even Del Rio if they dont get people to care about him in the next 12mths) might struggle to ever get back to being considerd on Cena etc level. Similarily people who looked like they had great potential like Drew McIntyre have probably had too much of a drop to ever rise above a midcard/jobber status, but of course such people are needed.
