my wife was informed today that she is in the wrong PRSI class A instead of D
and will get a refund in her next pay to reflect 2012. (about €900:))
they have told her she is in the wrong class since 1998 just wondering how far back she can claim and do revenue or dept of social protection deal with it.

    thanks in advance

    Is it related to this?
    http://www.independent.ie/business/personal-finance/pensions/prsi-error-leaves-state-staff-with-shortfall-in-pensions-3032981.html

Article mentions 4 year deadline so get your claim in before the 31st

Not sure how accurate this is

If she should be on Class D, the she is either a Civil or Public Servant. In that case, if she was appointed before 1st April 1995, she should be paying Class D only. If she was appointed after that date, then she should be paying full Class A contribution.
