Can anyone tell me where in Dublin or surrounding areas where I can buy books in the Spanish language?
I mean like best sellers or newly published books not educational ones?

Mods, couldn't find a suitable forum so feel free to move if you know of such place.

What's the point? everybody knows all you have to do in a foreign country is talk louder and slower for them to understand.

Try the town forum...Or the Spanish forum.

    Or as mentioned, Spain.

Or a lot of South America.

    Maybe Mexico in Central America.

You could try university book shops. They'd probably have Spanish novels and educational books.

There is also an international book shop on South Frederick Street that might do a few.

Either way you'd have a very limited choice. Why don't you try Spanish Amazon?

Some of the public libraries have a foreign language section, if they don't they can order them in for you.

Have you tried Modern Languages on Westland Row or International Books on South Frederick St? Most of their stuff would be educational but I'm fairly sure they'd have some of the classic novels like Don Quixote, Cien Años de Soledad, etc as they are often studied as part of university courses. I think Hodges Figgis might have a foriegn language section too so you might try there. If you can't find what you're looking for out of them you could try online - the bookdepository is pretty good value for Spanish stuff & there's free delivery.

Para mejor apreciar la riqueza del texto original, la que se pierde (aún que séa solo un poco) con una tradución.

Actually, if you're really stuck you could try buying an ebook for him & then printing it out yourself.

It'd probably be cheaper to book a cheap flight to Spain though, unless you can claim the printing on your expenses:)

If he can get access to a printer at his place of work & do it on the sly he shouldn't have to pay anything.

The last time I went to the bookshop on Westland Row it was closed until further notice- don't know if it has reopened again. Chapters have secondhand foreign books upstairs, though obviously they may not make the most impressive gift.
There's Spanish magazines in Eason's on O'Connell St too- a copy of Hola! might make him happy!:D
