You can only claim for 2012 items from Jan 1st 2013 as far as I am aware. You can't claim in the current year.

Jeepers, you have high hopes there! You'll get it when you get it, that's the only advice you can have when waiting for a government department to process paperwork.

to carry out the review they will need your P60 also for this year which you wont get off your employer until January at the earliest.

So you took tax advice from a receptionist in a eye laser surgery clinic.

    Best of luck with that.

If it is an elective like laser eye surgery they may deny it.

If they allow it, depending on how green the Clerical Officer is tbh it is set against PAYE paid as a credit so basically a 5th of the expense.

Your employer won't file your pay and tax till Feb so expect nada till around March

To claim a tax refund , you must have paid tax .

How long have you been on JB and have you paid tax in 2012 ( which was not refunded ) ?

i was made redundant this time last year , so i havent worked in 2012 say !! does that mean if i havent payed any tax in 2012 i wont recieve anything back ?

    all help much appreciated !!

As above, if you haven't worked for the year 2012 or had no taxable income in that year, then there is nothing to claim back as a refund!
