Correct Binding of Will

    Hi could anyone please tell me the correct way to bind a Will. I have always known paperclips are a no no and in the last office i worked in (i'm a secretary) we have always just used a staple top left hand corner. Should legal tape be used?

    A Will shouldnt be stapled and each page numbered Page 1 of 4 and so on.

    Legal tape is best.

    Why can't you use staples?

    And why do affidavits need those red corners? Is there somewhere online I can fnd out all this - there seems to be some very finicky stationary rules in the courts!

    I've never heard that they couldn't be stapled, in the last practice i worked in it was staples only and no tape. Wee bit confused now

    A will be be stored for many years before being opened on a death.

    Staples may rust. Taping together may be best.

    Probate Registrar must be satisfied that no new pages have been inserted.

    In the end, check with your local probate office - they rule in these matters
