A few weeks ago I noticed a photo in my gallery that didn't belong to me. I was half asleep checking them but it was of a neighbour, I deleted half thinking I dreamt it and had forgotten it until this morning. I was again checking the gallery to see a pic of a man I don't know making a jigsaw. This photo was apparently created on December 14th.
My phone never leaves my side and I didn't take them so where are they coming from. I'm using a HTC desire hd.

Is it in your DCIM folder or another folder?

It doesn't seem to be anywhere else now, where could it have come from?

Are you stalking the neighbours in your sleep?

Is it possible you could have accepted a neighbours bluetooth transfer at some point?

Highly unlikely, my bluetooth is never switched on. Plus I have no idea who the man in the 2nd picture was.

Have you plugged your phone into someone else's laptop recently?

Not at all, I never do. It's a mystery to me.

Maybe somebody was using whatsapp with your phone. Photos will end up in the gallery.

Or maybe you just accidentally downloaded a picture off the net.

More likely is that your wife is having an affair and the man in the picture is her new lover.

Some "nice & free" apps for play store used to place ads in the gallery - what brand was the jigsaw?

Upload the picture to tineye to see if it's some public domain image

It's probably a network sharing thing. While on a campsite wifi in the summer a few folders appeared in my gallery. When I looked further into it. There was a computer showing up with a shared folder and my phone automatically imported the pics in the gallery.

so its just showing up in your gallery and NOT on the phone memory?

is it in the gallery folder with other photos you have taken or is it on its own?

My phone/ Gallery automatically pulls photos from my Facebook friends when it's set to automatically sync. This is on the Moto Droid though, not sure if the HTC does the same.

Any exif data stored with the image?

I used wi fi on the bus yesterday may. be that might be it, I use Dropbox and am registered with Picasa but neither sync automatically, if all else fails I'll set another email address for my phone setup, that would eliminate any invisible sync so to speak.
