My 1st ebay dispute

So, ordered a small Christmas gift for my Uncle in the U.S. in late November. Item was dispatched by the seller with a tracking number and according to the USPS site, it's showing as having been delivered beginning of December.

Called my Uncle to check whether it'd arrived and........that'll be a no then. I've spoken with USPS directly, who tell me it was apparently 'left on the doorstep' (he lives with his Wife in a semi-d in a quiet residential neighbourhood). I'm just wondering how the above will play with PayPal regarding a dispute - item was sent by the seller to the correct address and USPS confirm as much, but clearly it was not received by the intended recipient.

Any thoughts or experiences of similar welcome.

Paypal will look at the USPS site and see delivered and will refuse to refund. You need to get USPS to change the status first although the seller is unlikely to help considering the tracking service shows delivered

    Ta for that

My understanding was that PayPal often seek a more definitive and verifiable delivery method and proof of receipt - i.e. signature confirmation. Although the item clearly reached its intended location, it did not reach the intended recipient.

I notice recently that both An Post and DHL gave left packages on doorsteps/ in hallways and signed off themselves .

Plus at my work , they have asked me my name and signed it themselves even though package was for another employee

I ordered a Canon DSLR camera once from the UK which cost me more than £1,000. The tracking said delivered so I thought it had been left outside and was then nicked. I've had a few things go missing over the years but never something that expensive so I was absolutely raging.

A couple of days later (and some furious phone calls), An Post finally got a hold of the delivery man and he said he left it with one of my neighbours. They went away for a couple of days so I had to wait until they got back to collect it.

I'd rather they left me a "Missed Delivery" notice and would have happily gone down to the local depot to collect it. Feckers nearly gave me a heart attack pacman.gif

That was poor form by your Postman, he could at least have put a note in your letter box saying it was with your neighbour!
