    Quick question....

One of my cars has an incorrect model description under section D2 of the tax book. Any suggestions on how i could get this corrected?

Quick answer Dave: Motor Tax Office, form, garage, stamp, return.

Up the walls in work, haven't had a chance to call yet... I'm just wondering what possessed them to register a Mercedes E430 as a B430... Can't help wondering what a B-class will feel like with a 280 bhp V8 under the bonnet :D:D:D:D

I'm not wondering what possessed them, they're blind obviously. :D

Had the same problem with an engine number: Instead of doing something useful for their 200 yoyos, the NCT just copied the engine number from the V5C document and completely ignored the correct engine number submitted on the form. Then upon complaint - not our problem - a trip to a motor tax office for a Garage Certified Details sheet which I need to get stamped and signed. Bunch of halfwits.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

(In my experience, although just as bad in making mistakes when they did it, the Revenue at least had the decency to correct them when requested).

The last time I had incorrect details on a VRC, I returned it to Shannon with a note explaining their error, a new one was issued to me.

Do you change your own spark plugs on the E430 or get a MB dealer to do it ??

Trouble with 'specialists' is that if they cock up then it's cash out of their pockets (time/lost jobs )as well as yours ( car off road etc. )

For the plugs, and left engine mount ( yearly failures to date ) I prefer to let MB dealer do it - at least when the engine mount goes in under a year they have to replace it FOC ;)
