I'm not big into planes but driving up the N7 today I got a glimpse of something flyng very low around Citywest. As I drove it passed right overhead of the N7 at the point where the SAP building is. It was going into land at Baldonnell.

I got a good look at it and it was a grey plane with 4 prop engines. Maybe a Hercules? I got a good glimpse of the faded US decal on the back.

Any ideas what this plane was and what it would be in Baldonnell?

I've never seen a plane landing like that, especially that low despite driving that road several times a week for years.

Food/Visit/Touch And Go Landings it can be any amount of reasons. Happens alot in just about every other Nation.

In the UK once a year for instance the RNLAF ( Royal Netherlands Air Force ) deploy Apache and Chinook helicopters to Carlisle Airport to hone their low level flying skills and for the experienc of operating off a civillian Airport in a foreign Nation and to use UK Firing ranges.
