    Hi gang newbie to DS gaming for his birthday got my four year second hand a DS lite and few games ( Mario and Sonic at winter game and toy story three friends got him Tomas hero of the rails as a start my question is what is the big slot for is some kind of exspantion pack

    It is for Gameboy Advance games (almost impossible to find in shops these days) and it was used by a couple of the quirkier DS games (e.g. one of the Wario games I think)

    Guitar hero also uses it but your sons hands are very likely too small to use it

    There was a variation of breakout that used it for a twiddly knob controller I think.
