he sure is bowling them over

I seem to recall the Beast Mugabi being exactly 26-0 with 26 KOs right before the Hagler fight. Will check up to make sure.

    Edit: 25/0

A quick google turned up this guy.
    Lamar Clark.

    ...not exactly stellar opposition though!

Acelino Freitas won his first 29 by k.o. iirc.

Wilder is the most protected boxer out there. Obvious power but very upright and will get splattered against anybody with average skills imo.

Yeah and about his first 30 opponents had 5 wins between them :)

Even nowadays Boxrec and other recordkeepers aren't 100% accurate, so imagine how hard it is to track records of nobodies back in the 1950's and 60's.

I'm not claiming his opponents weren't nobodies, but I would have huge doubts that 25 of them were making their debut.

I'm like you and thought it was 26, even though Boxrec has it 25. It certainly was 26-0(26) on the TV screens on the night of the Hagler fight and was advertised as 26 beforehand.

Wilder's second last fight was against a guy who had only fought once since 2007 and only weighed 170 in 2007 (he is also currently 39).
If Flintoff fights on Wilder will probably be looking for him, it's impossible to take him seriously

Wilder sure can bang, which is unsurprising for an athletic guy his size, but he sure can't box. He has time to learn, it all depends on matchmaking and how he bounces back if he gets KTFO.

I checked that. Yes, Mugabi was announced by Chuck Hull as 26/0 with 26 KOs. The screen also showed this for his record. I knew I wasn't imagining it.

Also, Hagler was listed as one inch taller than Mugabi. It's clear from the screen at instruction time that Mugabi is taller.
