    hi folks,

have the use of a vw sharan 1998 1.9 tdi at the moment. It leaks power steering fluid when parked. Found the leak at the connection of the return hose and the pump itself. Thing is, the end of this hose has a metal part/sleeve. Its basically just a continuation of the hose, but made of metal. half inch long or so. Anyway, this is simply pushed into the pump! It does not seem to be held there by anything. There are no threads on the sleeve part or the hose or on the pump part. Both male an female parts simple slot into each other, loosely. This cannot be the normal connection , is it? Even if I buy a new hose, how would it be attached to the pump, if you know what I mean? Musn't it be fixed in some way?

    Thanks a lot,

    Eamon

The metal bit should bolt onto the pump, banjo bolt I think. it comes as one complete hose.

    tks for the reply careful.

do you have a link to a pic of this please? I want to see what a banjo bolt looks like. Maybe I can use something similar as the hose in itself is in good shape.

    cheers
