At work we used to arrange for Jack & Jill to collect our used printer cartridges.
The recycling company that Jack & Jill use are gone out of business and therefore Jack & Jill are not in a position to collect the cartridges.

Are there any other charities that collect cartridges, any help appreciated

    no idea

I suppose that is understandable from their point, but you think they would make them so they could be recycled? Surely these chips would be reuseable?
I cant find anywhere that takes them and I wanted to find a bit more of an environmentally friendly way of disposing of them.

Inkjet.ie do refill cartridges for as little as 2 euro each.

They have an ad on 98fm at the moment.

I have bought off them in the past, it would work out 2 euro a cartridge If I bought a bundle of 10 which I have done, I actually found them to be the best value. I have bought elsewhere for less but there were problems printing or it turned out they wouldn't ship to Ireland (pre parcel motel)

last set of inks I got somewhere else as I ran out and didn't order in time.

Its a shame my EPSON cartidges dont seem to be accepted for recycle anywhere, I even asked inkjet before, and they didn't accept them at the time either.

I just thought of another place that do refills, it'll probably be as cheap to buy.
Its as much to not be putting them in the bin and buying replacements which end up in the bin.
