I have an interesting collection of rocks and fossils which were collected pre-1970.

Are any of these rare or significant ?

    Thanks

This one was labelled as a Meteorite. (3 pieces)

One has since cracked open and is partially filled with grey dust.
It was next to an old brass bullet case and has caused a reaction to the brass.

First post, Id say the first three are quartz of some nature, the fossil is a sea urchin, looks cretaceous maybe? If you found it in Ireland, it's likely earlier and yea it's rare alright.

Second post, first another sea urchin, followed by two ammonites of some description.

The third post has the smooth surface of a meteorite alright. The inner corrosion? Space fungus!!:eek::D Dunno that's odd. I suppose an iron rich meteorite would rust or corrode when exposed so...

    My 2 cents anyway.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
