Just wondering if anyone has heard about union reaction on the 10% reduction imposed on VEC;s.The cut is aimed at PLC places this represents a cut of about 4000 places and will have a severe knock on effect on students and teaching jobs in the FE sector in 2013. I think its only hitting home now how serious this cut is going to be - especially the increase in the pupil teacher ratio which was well hidden in the detail of the budget. It is probably going to be at least 5 full posts in our place which is massive considering it could be made up of several teachers on part time hours. I imagine this will be the same in FE colleges across the country.
