Can someone explain the major differences between these 2 phones please? Need a new phone and was thinking of going with the S3 but the mini is much cheaper?

Also, will vodafone/o2/meteor have anything off these in the January sales?

    Thanks

You would never compare these phones if they didn't share a name, they couldn't be more apart. Besides the smaller screen, there is lots different. S3 has a 1.4Ghz quad core, Mini has 1Ghz dual core, S3 has 8MP camera as opposed to 5MP on Mini, S3 has much bigger battery 2100mAh as opposed to 1500 on Mini.

You would actually be better off buying a Galaxy S 2 rather than the Mini.

Thanks for that, any idea where is the cheapest place to get it? I have seen it on pixmania for €485

Can't go wrong for that price. Doubt you will find it cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks, would that be the same as getting it here or do I have to update settings or something? Any idea how long delivery would take?

Just went to order this and the price goes up to €464.09 plus €4.79 for delivery, any idea how to get it back to the €449?

One more question, if I buy the S3 here and move to the Uk I presume it will just be a matter of getting a uk sim card for the phone?

It added the Irish VAT rate. Unless you have a German that can pick it up and bring it to you you're out of luck on that front.

Actually I have another question or 2:)

Is the sim card in the galaxy s3 a micro sim and if so is it possible for me to keep my number and get a micro sim from vodafone?

Yeah just drop into a store and tell them you want a micro sim and they'll do the rest to change your number to the micro sim.

Just to note with the comparisons, the mini is also smaller. May sound like an obvious thing to say, but it seems the dfocus is on performance specs in comparing the two...

Thanks, will that take a few days or can they do it in a few minutes?

Just after buying one on donedeal that is locked to O2 so I will have to unlock it before I go into vodafone with it. How do I unlock it or would they unlock it for me in vodafone?
