IMC website doesn't say, for some stupid reason. Just that they're not included in the price.

Going to see the Hobbit in 3D, not particularly mad about 3D at all but heard it's the only way to see it in 48fps and I want to see what the fuss is about.

Mind you I heard they are also showing the 3D one in 24fps and it isn't specifying on the site so I'll be raging if it's the regular framerate..

In cineworld it's included in the price and they just ask u to return the glasses afterwards. You don't have to.

Funny... watched it last night in 2D. I didn't know anything about the 24/48 fps, but I did notice in the panning shots how jumpy it was. Interesting..

Almost tempted to go see it again. But not quite.

I think the last time I was in the IMC in Athlone they were steep enough, around the euro mark perhaps. You do get to hold on to them though so it's a once off cost.

Local cinema charge €0.40 for them but again, it's only a once off provided you don't forget to bring them the next trip.

    Slightly off topic.

Anybody know what Type of 3D glasses they use in the IMC cinemas?

The ones they give out ( €1 in galway) are a bit crap so I was thinking I might try buy a decent pair for myself online somewhere..

Like anaglyph or red/blue or red/green or polarised or wha?

    Thanks

They're just regular passive 3D glasses, they're cheap looking naturally enough in IMC but they don't really work any better or worse than most others to be fair. I use the IMC ones at home sometimes.

Yah I found out last night that they are Polarized 3D Glasses.

So I'll go see what I can get.

There was another thread on boards that actually named the system that IMC are using.. lost it now..

€1 in Dundrum. Free in Liffey Valley...

Note quite free in Liffey Valley as they charge a €2.70 premium to see a 3D movie while dundrum charge €1 extra for a 3D movie. So their "free" glasses are about €1.70.

Yea, most cinemas that provide their own 3D glasses do so with an added cost in the ticket price, otherwise, for the disposable ones, it's a euro extra.

Just be aware that different projectors use different glasses, so one pair might not work in a different cinema. I'm sure someone else could confirm.
