My son has set up a clan via MW3 xbox 360. How does he invite his friends to join it?

Did he set it up through Call of Duty Elite? If he did, when he enters the site, tell him to search for his mates gamertag, there should be an "invite to clan" link displayed, they then have to accept through Elite, meaning they have to sign up aswell

No, just via MW3.
Does he have to do it through Call of Duty Elite?

He can just get them to change their clan tag to the same and they can have a clan that way but to get proper stats and enter challanges as a clan he'll need to do it via Elite, its free and only takes a couple of minutes

In Elite it says that we need one premium member to invite members. Is that right?
