Wedding Gift from Bridesmaid

Hi, I am bridesmaid for my sister in July - what would be the norm to get her as a gift? I am new to this. None of my friends are married so I have no examples to go by. I was thinking of maybe a holiday/weekend away for them in the months after the wedding to beat the post wedding blues?

If you take the norm for a couple as a wedding gift (a friend's) as €100, then what budget should I set? We are not well off, but don't want to be stingy with our gift.

It is my sister as well so has to be something perfect :/

    V confused

My sister who was my BM paid for beauty treatments we had before the wedding, eg spray tan/nails. Would that be an option? It was a lovely gesture and I didn't expect a substantial gift as she was between jobs at the time. I'd say get a really nice card and write something meaningful in it too, we love the cards we got and it saddens me that a few close family members didn't bother with them. Less annoyed that they still haven't given us a gift, despite constantly mentioning the fact.

They keep mentioning the fact they didn't give a gift or you do?

They do. A lot of 'we haven't forgotten, oh aren't we awful we haven't given you anything yet' every time we see them.

If it helps, my BM asked me what I would like and I told her....
I asked for a BBQ as we wanted one and as I knew that she could then budget for what she could afford...
And presto a BBQ arrived a few days before the wedding. Plus we had a BBQ instead of a hen/stag etc and it was a nice reminder.

And also, my sister asked me what I would like and I asked her for an outside fire/ burner and she got me one. They are both nice gifts to have as they last the time and they can come to the house and enjoy them as well.

Plus its something my OH and I can use;)

don't put yourself unduly under pressure. Decide how much you can afford to give and then see what you can get for that amount. Whether it's treatments a hotel getaway, a restaurant voucher or simply a thoughtful gift. I cannot see a reasonable sister expecting her sibling to fork out beyond her means.
