I spoke to my dad this morning and we were discussing his putting woes over the weekend. Then we did a quick evaluation of the putters that we own between us. He has two - both of which are mine; and I have two - both of which are his.

    I haven't used a putter I purchased in about 6 years.

Might be interesting in swapping on of my brothers putters if you are interested!!! I find it useless.

3 of my regular playing partners are playing with my ex putters. Think it is the one club that benifits from going in the bold corner every now and then. I had a 2ball decided i wanted a Scotty and ended up going thru 8 different putters before going back to a different 2ball had 6 of them at the same time down to just 3 now.

I borrowed my brothers set of clubs one day. I found the putter incredibly different. On the second hole I had a 30 foot putt. I putted about 12 feet left of the hole and way off the green. It was the most ridiculous putt I've ever hit.

And you are putting 100% of the blame on the putter for that ????

Heh Heh, interesting topic... my current putter I swapped for my old 3Wood with a pal of mine. It's a Ping Craz-E mallet style. My pal used it for a good while then bought the same putter but a centre-shafted version. I had used his putter once - literally, just putted with it once in a casual round one day! - and thought if felt great. So he let me use it for a couple of rounds and there was no way I was parting with it again... so I swapped him a 3Wood I had that I never used, which was a lovely club itself anyway...

I had been using a nice Ping blade putter but my putting had deteriorated so badly that anything outside about 20 feet was almost a guaranteed three-putt... I reckon that was about 6 years ago.

I've had the putter regripped since, about 4 years ago and had toyed with the idea of trading it in for the newer version of the same putter but then again, if it aint broke don't fix it, so I reckon I'll stick with her for now.

If I could put more I would!

Great thread. I struggled getting putts to the hole. Borrowed my old mans, ping redwood putter which was a lot heavier than mine. Three years ago!! Now I struggle hitting short putts too firmly...
