I've been getting flashed quite a lot lately which leads me to believe my headlights are a bit on the high side. I tried turning the dial but unfortuately this only adjusts the passenger side lights.
Can someone tell me how to manually adjust the lights? I tried turning the highlighted plastic screw in the photo but didnt appear to do anything.
How big a job is it to replace the electric motor to adjust it?

First off, check that the bulb is inserted correctly. I have come across a few of these where the headlamp bulb is installed without being lined up properly with the tab in the groove. This will throw the light upwards or to one side and adjusting won't have any apparent effect.

Have you checked to see that the reflector isn't loose inside the lamp. If the motor has become detached from the reflector then the beam will be jumping up and down as your drive along. This would also explain why your electric adjustment isn't working on the drivers side.

The self levelling motor knuckle might have popped out of it's socket. Only way to correct that is to remove the whole unit, as access is very limited.
