    Why a Trek?

The Giant Trance would be your best bet..

Trek are grand bikes, but it's hard to beat Giant in terms of value and performance...and are the most popular also..

Pop into The Cycle Inn Tallagh village, he has loads of the 2013's in stock..

    I've a Trek Fuel Ex 8.

What I know about Mountain Biking would fit on the back of a tiny piece of paper in big writing but my MTB mates tell me it's a nice ride.

I think Biking.ie have some for hire at Ballinastoe. Might be an idea to take one out for a go?

Bah, glorified XC bikes, the lot of them. Either a Trek Slash or Giant Reign would be the perfect do-it-all bike. If you're not getting ridiculously wild on the way down, the Remedy is fine, but if you err on the side of gnar go with the Reign X.

He wants to go MTB'ing in Wicklow, not the Alps! :D
