I think myself that people move on from time to time and it can be difficult to stay in touch. It is quite common for school friends to drift apart when their lives are going in different directions. If you had a chat with this girl about this and got no satisfaction from her then let it drop. She is not worth persuing. You will make new friends along the way, so don't worry. We change our friends and get new friends throughout our lives and that is the norm for everyone. Some people stay friends with a particular person all their lives but that is not the rule. You have made the effort with this girl and told her how you feel but she probably feels that you pushed her out of your life when you were too tired to meet up with her and she could feel that now that you are ready to talk she is damned if she will be around for you. However, if she can't accept your explanation and doesn't want to then she is no friend of yours.
