I've an interview coming up and a bit nervous. Been trying to prepare.

I finished a course in May of this year. How do I explain 7 months of nothing. Time really does fly.

How many references are normally required? Thought it was two but im thinking, if I have more, it'll be better.

I did work experience in 3 places. Two of them I asked to be referee. The other place, the owner was never there, so doubt he'll even know me and I had no supervisor. What do I do here.

I also have written references, should I bring them with me.

do you do any volunteer work?
Do you do any additional study?

Wouldn't bring references, if they want them they will ask, more lightly to phone you references

    best of luck

What did you really do during the 7months? Any volunteering, job searching, job researching, etc? Why this job after 7 months?
Two references are normally enough and will be contacted directly if they are interested in you.

I was asked to bring the names and numbers of references. So its why im worrying about it before the interview.

I have my referees (last two employers) on my C.V. If they are interested in offering me the job after the interview they ask me if its ok for them to contact my referees.
In your situation I would either type out the names, job titles and contact details of your referees or give copies of written references if you have them AND they have contact details on them. The most important thing is that they can be contacted.

    Hi OP.

Do all the good interview stuff, smile, nice firm handshake. If they do ask what you have been doing for the last seven months just say something along the lines of "I'm sure you know hpw difficult the jobs market is at the moment - but at the same time, I don't want to settle for any role - this role however really interests me because blah....."

I would say people generally look for two references. It doesn't have to be the guy who owned the place, rather someone you reported too.

Bring the written references if you think it will help, but I would wouldn't ask them. Only provide them if asked and you can write something on your CV to the effect of "References Available on Request", usually at the very bottom.

    Best of luck with it!
