The OH has been kayaking a few times and loved it :D I'm thinking of buying him a second hand one for xmas but I haven't a clue where to look or what to be looking at  Can anyone suggest a good kayak for a beginner? I think he'd prefer a sit-in one. Is there any hope of getting one for €200 or less?

    Hi,

It's difficult to advise on what type of kayak to get - there are many different types that all do different things.

More worthwhile is probably to join a club - they will have gear for you to try until you get to know what you want.

€200 will get you membership of any club and also some of the basic gear you'll need such as a wetsuit, drytop and deck.

you could end up getting some real rubbish if your budget is that low.
A club is way to go...
