I will be watching with interest myself see how he jumps a fence! Plenty of short priced favs at Navan today, its a good card.

Weak race today, all going well should be a schooling session

Late in the day to start however. I'd guess (assuming today going well) the idea would be a winners of 1 then either the Grade 2 Sir Des won last year or the Grade 1 on Hennessy day.

RSA surely the ultimate target seeing as they ran in the Albert Bartlett last year

1/4 is way too short, I will be backing You Must Know Me as the yard are in good form and their horses always seem well able to jump.

Not really interested in the price. Just more looking forward to watching him jump fences.

The money buyers are out in force. Very strong

Workman like but not very impressive. Looked like he lacked a gear turning for home.

    Given a scare

Jumped well & moved stylishly into it jumping the 3rd last but had to be shaken up quite vigorously. Think there was more in it than the finishing margin though as Ruby didn't really want to get stuck in

    No more than workmanlike however

Didn't have the turn of foot on the flat to get away from the 2nd horse. Jumped really well though and can only improve for the run. Ground looks so heavy so expect him to fair much better on better ground.

I'd like to see them making more use of Boston Bob in his races. I know today was only his beginners chase and they probably wanted to teach him but he strikes me as a horse who will be better when ridden handily and sent on to win his race earlier.

I reckon he is gonna get turned over tomorrow. Lyreen Legend is the winner for me.

Just posted in the other thread. I have my reservations whether he's out there for a hard race tomorrow. Given his target is the RSA and the trip is over 2m 5 are they really going to want to run him into the ground against some race for horses.

Didn't get to see Boston bob run the other day. Was he impressive ? I thought the trip might be a bit short for him myself.

Very impressive. Mullins was quoted after that he was shocked by how good the performance was. This is backed up from the vibes in the market before hand. 4/7 -> 8/11 before the off. Won with bags in hand and so much improvement left IMO.

What do you think about a crack at the world hurdle. 10/1 with PP st the moment. Is there e/w value in that price. Doubts about big bucks and Solwhit can be a bit fragile injury wise. Not sure what race Annie Power will run in. I'm thinking Boston bob might be worth a little bet.

Hmmm... Fair question but so sooo difficult to bet antepost right about now with Willie Mullins runners because he has so much class. Annie Power has won over 2m up to 2m4f. What struck me the most about her race at Cheltenham yesterday was how she was when she finished the race. The Channel 4 presenter on the track, Alice Plunkett, made the good point to Ruby how Annie was the only horse that day to finish the race and how Ruby had a slightly difficult time in pulling her up to stop in comparison to all others that day who were quite tired from the very slow ground.

Boston Bob finished his race that way too I thought. And we know that BB handles Cheltenham and now we know that AP will be OK at Cheltenham. And we know that BB handles 3 miles. And we could safely assume that AP will handle 3 miles judging by how she finished. So both in theory are ideal for the World Hurdle! Fascinating stuff!!

And to add more intrigue and complexity to your thoughts about antepost on BB... Mullins said that the owner was keen to go for the World Hurdle but he (Mullins) might still go back chasing with him...

Great pic of him here in this article... http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/racing/boston-bob-back-in-business-253969.html

    Looks strong and powerful!

Puzzled by that statement from the Mullins. The horse clearly has bags of talent and for me, it should have won the RSA Chase last year. The only issues were a bit of greenness, but that can be ironed out with age and experience.

I have to agree with this. Has always looked a very talented horse. I honestly think if they could get his jumping right he could be a genuine gold cup contender. Should have won the rsa last year but for a fall at the last and if you look at his other chase performances he is always doing his best work at the end of the race despite his sketchy jumping.
So if Mullins sorts the jumping I think he could be our best gold cup chance.
