Right here goes. My friend drinks Created Ten, Redbreast, had a bottle of Midelton for his birthday last year. Just looking for suggestions that won't cost the Earth. Anything along those lines he would appreciate ?

The Jameson Special Reserve - 12 year old is very good. As far as I remember it retails at between 35 -40 Euro. Tesco etc stock it.

Yeah that's an option alright. He seems to be a Jameson fiend alright. I was just wondering if there was anything else I could tempt him with? Am I wrong in saying they all have a sherry note in them? Is there anything else he would appreciate along those lines?

Get him a John Lane single pot still Power's.

Might be a bit peaty for him but consider Connemara Single Malt Whiskey, Dunnes have it for around €30-35 or so. Different flavour to Jameson but I was blown away by how good it was after getting a bottle of it a while back.

If he likes those I'd suggest a bottle of Writers Tears. Its €39.99 in the Celtic Whiskey Shop in town. It's one of my favourites.

I would also recommend this, it's a fantastic whiskey.

+1 for the Powers John Lane, would also suggest Green Spot whiskey here.

If your mate is a whiskey fan, then realistically he'd enjoy all of those listed above.

Aldi are doing a special reserve 400 Anniversary Bushmills for around 58 euro.

It is supposed to be very good.
