Handicap Chase query

    Hi lads,
If a Chase has 17 runners, must a bookie automatically pay out on top 4 places?
Today in the 1430 at Cheltenham, I put €10 e/w on Tartak and I just realised he finished 4th.
However, on the same docket I had a €20 win on QPR. I handed in the docket to the bookies and they returned €52 - my QPR win returns. I didnt realise that Tartak finished 4th at the time so didnt query it.
    What do you think?

16 or more runners pays the 1st four, but your race only had 14 runners.

I see, nice one. I sure hope paddys or another bookie werent paying 4 places.
Why did I think it was 17 runners? If you click on the 'full result' for that race on racingpost.com, youll see down the bottom it says 17 ran.
Typo on their part I guess.

Big time, drop an email to them asking them to pay you, as you went threw a hellish time finding out they were wrong.
