Eircodes dont work for BBC. Try using a Northern Ireland BTxx xYY or Scottish format EHxx xYY (for x use random digits and for Y use random letters) postcode.

oh and posting your full name AND eircode on the world wide web probably isin't a brilliant idea.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free-to-air_channels_at_28%C2%B0E

10.788 Vertical (Radio 3, 4, Scotland, Ulster etc)

    10.8803 Horizontal (Radios 1, 2 and 5)

Symbol Rate in both cases is 22,000 and Forward Error Correction (FEC) is 5/6

The BBC Radio channels are free to air on satellite so you do not need an active subscription in order to listen to them.

When you say you are asked to enter a code, is it requesting the PIN number? If so this may be the last 4 digits of the viewing card.

What type of Sky box are you using?

If it is a non-sky+ box you may be able to get the box to flip over to the UK EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) which has the BBC Radio channels. To do this unplug the box from the mains. Remove the viewing card and put it in upside down (so the chip is not read). Plug in the box again and you should get the UK EPG with BBC1 at channel 101 and all of the BBC Radio channels available.

If it is a sky+ (or sky HD) box I would suggest getting a UK FTA card which will get you the UK EPG. They're available on ebay for a couple of euro.

Quick search on ebay shows the cards available for €12.94 with free postage. Try searching for "sky freesat card"

A basic fta card can be had for 4 or5e on adverts, this won't allow record but it will give an English epg on a Sky hd box. You shouldn't need a card for a Sky non hd box, you should be able to get bbc radio fta on any of the boxes.
