All the + boxes supplied by Sky over the last couple of years are HD but if your box is older it may not be able to receive HD channels.

    Freeview does not equal satellite.

I have a very old Sky box in the kitchen as I upgraded to HD for the sitting room, if I buy a new Sky HD box on adverts.ie can I get all the HD channels on the line up or do I have to tune them manually in to other channels on the box, also can I use the card for the sitting room in the kitchen.

Unless it has changed the sky HD boxes are a bit pants as satellite receiver boxes as removing the card doesn't revert the epg to an english one and it remains as is. This means that you still have to go in via other channels to get the ITV and 5 channels
