First post here so here we go.... :)
I purchased a PX-777 Puxing Radio for my Rig
My team is also going to be buying them soon enough.
My question is can i only talk to people who also have a 777? Or can i hear/speak to others on the radio?
New to this radio business lads so please go lightly haha

Everything you need to know about PMR446 which is the frequency spectrum in which you should be broadcasting. Simply put to answer your question, yes you can talk/hear others who are on the same frequency as you regardless of radio type.

Under PMR446, you essentially have eight channels (frequencies are in the above wiki link), that can be further subdivided using CTCSS into a total combination of 32 possible sub-channels. For example: I decide I want to pick channel "two" (446.01875 Mhz). I can then apply CTCSS to that and I decide to pick sub-channel "ten" (94.8 Hz). If anyone else wants to talk to me they will need to be on both the same channel & the same sub channel. Anyone else broadcasting on the same channel but not the same sub-channel will come across as static. Anyone sitting on the main channel will be able to hear what I'm saying, but not communicate with me (or is it the other way around that you can broadcast but not hear back; it's one or the other)

The radio that you have (UHF, 400-470Mhz) is capable of operating well outside of the 446Mhz frequency spectrum, so a word of caution: please, for the love of god don't f*ck around on other frequencies unless you either have a license for the frequency in question or you really know what you're doing and what the repercussions can be.
