    Just spotted this myself. Will be interesting to see how this plays out to say the least. Could get nasty!

    The fact that Rory's team continued to bargain with Oakley after 'the email' could be the sucker punch for them.

    It's not clear whether they were bargaining with them or fulfilling the contractual requirement of telling them what they had to beat.

    Regardless of whether Oakley could match Nike's offer or not, it's still down to the individual to decide who he wants to represent. They don't own him!

    sour grapes by oakley, they couldn't afford to match the contract and basically pulled out. mcilroy's management tried somewhat to keep then at the table after the email but decided not to go with them.

    simple tendering process, they're just pissed that they couldn't play ball.

    someone in oakley should be fired for that
